Who We Are
Arun Agarwal is a Business Unit Partner of TPG’s Tech Adjacencies Team, based in San Francisco. Prior to joining TPG, he was a Co-Founder and CEO at Infinio, a datacenter software business. Arun also was a Senior Manager at Endeca Technologies and an investor at Bessemer Venture Partners and Lightspeed Venture Partners. Arun received his BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Dan Allen is a Field Operations Advisor at TPG Capital, where he focuses on adding value to portfolio companies through sourcing and supply chain activities. Prior to joining TPG in 2019, he served as the CPO at Itron, and previously as CPO at Avaya. Dan has a BBA in finance from Iowa State University and an MBA from University of Texas at Dallas.
Matt Allessio leads operations for the Growth and Rise funds and is based in San Francisco. Prior to joining TPG in 2016, Matt worked in consulting with A.T. Kearney. Matt holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a BA from Stanford University.
Jeff Arvin is a Field Operations Advisor at TPG Capital, where he focuses on revenue and margin optimization initiatives at TPG’s portfolio companies. Prior to joining TPG in 2016, he held operational leadership positions with YP Holdings and LexisNexis. Earlier in his career, Jeff was a consultant at McKinsey & Company’s Silicon Valley Office and held various sales & marketing roles with Thomson Reuters, Fisher Scientific and NCR Corporation. He received an MBA from Emory University and a BA from DePauw University.
Mayank Bajpai is a Managing Director for TPG Growth and The Rise Fund, based in Mumbai, where he leads business building efforts for Growth and Rise portfolio companies in India. Prior to joining TPG, Mayank worked for Flipkart Internet as a Senior Director, leading marketplace seller and ecosystems strategy, and before that was a Principal at Booz & Company. Mayank earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and his MBA from the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad.
Karthik Balu is a Technology and Product Advisor at TPG Capital. As a part of the Field Operations Group, he focuses across the portfolio, enabling technology and delivery transformation in partnership with CTOs, CIOs, and CPOs. Prior to joining TPG in 2019, he held leadership positions with VCG (a part of Vista Equity Partners) and Farmers Insurance. Prior to that, Karthik headed Cognizant’s resiliency practice for the West Coast division. He received his degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Government College of Technology, India.
Stephen Bamford is a Partner in TPG’s Client and Capital Formation group, based in San Francisco. Prior to joining TPG in Hong Kong in 2010, Stephen spent his career at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in London and Hong Kong. Stephen received a BA from Harvard College and an MBA from London Business School.
Catie Barile is a Vice President at TPG based in San Francisco and has been with the firm since 2015. Catie works in TPG's Corporate Development group and focuses on the firm's strategy and development of new investment platforms. Previously Catie worked at Credit Suisse in the investment banking division within the Retail & Consumer group. She earned her BS in finance and management at Georgetown University.
