The Challenge
Approximately 38 million youth in the United States are covered under Medicaid of CHIP. This population has a disproportionately low utilization of dental services and preventative dental care, putting them at higher risk of oral and whole-body health issues, as well as unsafe care.
Without routine or preventative care, many low-income children develop severe dental disease. This can result in chronic pain, school absences, and acute and expensive healthcare interventions. Yet some families have little choice when it comes to treatment options, and there are many barriers to safe care.
"Our mission and values align closely with those of The Rise Fund and we are thrilled to partner with their team as we continue providing vital dental care to pediatric and special needs patients across the country"
– Devin Larsen, DEO, Blue Cloud

Solution Provided
To advance the industry, Blue Cloud is committed to helping educate providers and payors in states with moderate and limited regulation, while simultaneously offering low-income families a safer setting of care.
Operating as a 100% referral-based model, Blue Cloud receives all of their patients through a pediatric dentist who refers out of medical necessity, with no economic incentive. This lack of direct-to-patient sales channel preserves the medical integrity of the business. In addition, Blue Cloud’s business model sends patients back to their primary care dentists following their procedures, which eliminates competitive concerns that may exist with dental services organizations (DSOs) with surgery center capabilities.
